Jody
Burgin (M.R.E.,
M.A.) served as co-writer and Project Director. He has extensive pastoral experience and particular expertise
in sexual counseling.
Jody was also the curriculum writer for Sex & Young America (SYA),
a multi-media project targeted at high school students to equip
them to survive in a sex-saturated society. SYA was a collaborative
production from National Coalition for the Protection of Children
& Families, Focus on the Family, Fellowship of Christian Athletes,
Hope Now, Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, Josh McDowell Ministry,
and Young Life. The product was the impetus for the July 2001 Dateline
NBC episode, “Sex and Sensibility.” Clips from SYA have
also been used nationally on the Today Show and the Ananda
Lewis Show.
In demand as a conference and workshop leader, Jody has taught at
a collegiate level and traveled nationally and internationally as
a speaker. Jody has also made presentations before a House Subcommittee
on Telecommunications, Trade and Consumer Protection in Washington,
D.C. and been featured in New Man Magazine, a publication
of Promise Keepers.

Our founder, president, and co-writer of DL for Men is Dr. Steven E. Stoller, a physician and seminary graduate. Steve trained in Internal Medicine at the Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia and practiced actively for 22 years. He then completed seminary training and now teaches and works in the area of whole-person health and addiction recovery. His previous publications include The Symphony of Creation, which presents scientific evidence for God's creative work, and Moral Accountability in Addiction. Both have been used on the college and seminary level. Steve is also in demand as a conference speaker and has won multiple awards for teaching excellence.
Other members of our team include Karen Roberts, a former
college professor, who served as the editor. She is a publishing
professional qualified by 16 years of experience in hands-on editorial
and production work. With a proven record of success in planning,
editing, writing for publication, and coordinating cross-functional
teamwork, Karen brings a keen sense of market innovation to our
materials. Joe Pagliaro did our graphic design.
Over the course of his freelancing career, Joe has enjoyed working
relationships with numerous well known large firms such as AK Steel,
Cintech, Drackett, Jewish Community Center, Ernst & Young, Greenlon,
Procter and Gamble, South-Western Publishing and Vernors. Ray
Strecker was our AV specialist. Ray has produced state
of the art multimedia presentations in use by nationally known speakers
and organizations. Dr. Douglas Reed,
a Christian psychologist specializing in sexual addiction, carefully
critiqued our content development. Kent Ernsting
(M.S., M.A., M.A.) a Christian therapist with extensive experience
in counseling those with sexuality problems was a further part of
our research team.
